Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to purchases made from Studio Solhem through studiosolhem.com. By placing an order, you accept these terms. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that apply under Swedish law or the laws of the customer’s country of residence.

Orders

You must be at least 18 years old or have permission from a parent or legal guardian to place an order.

After placing an order, you will receive an automatic order confirmation by email. Please contact us promptly if any information in the confirmation is incorrect.

Studio Solhem reserves the right to cancel and refund an order in the event of an obvious pricing error, incorrect product information, suspected fraud or circumstances that make fulfilment impossible.

Prices and payment

Prices are displayed in the currency available for the customer’s selected market and include applicable VAT or sales tax where required. Currency conversions are handled by Shopify and may change with exchange rates.

Shipping costs, taxes collected at checkout and the total amount payable are displayed before the order is confirmed.

For deliveries outside the European Union, import VAT, customs duties and carrier handling fees may apply. Where these charges are not collected at checkout, they must be paid by the customer upon delivery.

Available payment methods are displayed at checkout. Payments are processed securely by Shopify and the payment providers available at checkout. Studio Solhem does not store complete card details.

Handmade products

Studio Solhem’s pieces are made by hand. Minor variations in shape, dimensions, finish, colour, texture, painted details and hammered surfaces are natural characteristics of handmade production and do not necessarily constitute defects.

Each piece may therefore differ slightly from the product photographs or from another piece of the same design. These variations are part of the character of handmade work and make each piece unique.

Product photographs are intended to represent each item as accurately as possible. Colours may appear slightly different depending on lighting and screen settings.

Any electrical components, light sources, cables, fittings or lamp bases are included only when expressly stated in the product description. Products described as lampshades are sold as lampshades only.

Production and delivery

Unless otherwise stated on the product page, handmade-to-order pieces require approximately 2–3 weeks of production before dispatch.

Estimated delivery times after dispatch depend on the destination:

Sweden: 3–5 business days
European Union: 2–6 business days
United Kingdom: 5–8 business days
United States: 5–10 business days

Production and delivery times are estimates. International deliveries may take longer due to customs processing or circumstances outside Studio Solhem’s control. Studio Solhem will contact you if an unexpected delay materially affects your order.

Further information about shipping costs, delivery, tracking, customs charges and uncollected parcels is available in our Shipping & Returns policy.

Right of withdrawal and returns

Consumers in Sweden, the European Union and the United Kingdom generally have a statutory right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days of receiving or collecting the order. Studio Solhem extends the same 14-day return period to eligible consumer orders from its other supported markets unless more favourable mandatory rights apply.

Instructions for exercising the right of withdrawal, return conditions, return costs, refunds and the withdrawal function are available in our Shipping & Returns policy.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to products made according to the customer’s personal specifications or products that are otherwise clearly personalised. This exception does not automatically apply solely because a standard product is handmade to order.

Defective, damaged or incorrect products

If a product is defective, arrives damaged or does not correspond to the order, please contact hello@studiosolhem.com. Include your order number and, where relevant, photographs of the product and its packaging.

Natural variations associated with handmade production do not necessarily constitute defects. This does not affect your right to complain if a product has a genuine fault, significant damage, a functional defect or does not correspond to what was ordered.

Approved complaints are handled at no cost to the customer. Studio Solhem follows the mandatory provisions of the Swedish Consumer Sales Act and any other mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply. Under Swedish law, consumers generally have the right to complain about an original defect for up to three years.

Where permitted under applicable law, Studio Solhem may first offer an appropriate remedy, such as repair or replacement.

Liability and use

Studio Solhem is not responsible for damage caused by incorrect installation, use contrary to supplied instructions, unauthorised alteration, abnormal handling or normal wear and tear.

The customer is responsible for ensuring that lampshades are used only with compatible fittings and light sources and in accordance with any supplied care or safety instructions.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights where doing so would conflict with mandatory law.

Events outside our control

Studio Solhem is not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including serious transport disruption, natural disasters, government action, conflict, strikes or major supplier disruption.

If such circumstances materially affect an order, Studio Solhem will contact the customer and seek a reasonable solution. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Changes to these terms

Studio Solhem may update these terms for future purchases. The terms applicable to an order are those available when the order is placed.

Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law. This choice of law does not deprive consumers of any mandatory protection provided by the laws applicable in their country of residence.

If a dispute cannot be resolved directly with Studio Solhem, the consumer may contact the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN) through arn.se or by post at:

ARN
Box 174
101 23 Stockholm
Sweden

Studio Solhem will participate in the dispute-resolution procedure and follows ARN’s recommendations. Consumers outside Sweden may also have the right to contact a competent dispute-resolution body in their country of residence.
